I've been tweaking the sheet I use for checking Outcomes 1 & 2 of the Researching Unit (internal elements of the Investigation).
With Prelim looming I've also changed the way videos load on the webpage that hosts all the Practical Skills videos (RSC) as well as my Unit 1 videos. They were working fine in 'normal' computers but not so well with school machines -running IE on 'old' systems stuck behind a firewall. Nightmare.

Just about to move onto the second part of my Equilibrium Topic when suddenly remembered that whereas last years class had done traditional Higher, this years class had done Revised Higher and, therefore, know nothing about weak acids/weak bases/pH scale/water product/ pH of salts etc.
Too big a jump to go from Standard Grade Acids/Bases so (as a stop gap) I've spent the evening revamping my old Higher Notes and we'll just have to spend a week going through them before I get back to the 'real stuff'.

Bit random, but I've been contacted by a teacher new to this country, new to teaching AdvH and unable to find the 'old' AdvH PPA document. I don't think there was ever a digital version of these so I've them scanned at high resolution as they may still be useful in the future - Lab Skills, for example.

Have spent the last week revamping most of my AdvH materials to try and leave me free to concentrate on other courses for rest of year.
Notes for Kinetics, Structural Analysis & Drug Interactions produced.
New Tests written and others freshened-up to provide 7 Tests as per plan below.

Second year of Revised Advanced Higher was supposed to be about completing preparations for CfE Advanced Higher. Instead, it will be about learning to cope with a cut from 5 Teaching periods to 2 Teaching periods.
Priority, at the moment, therefore is as much about planning and timing.

One of the hardest things I've done for a long time, but I've finally rationalised the new Molecules & Colour section in Unit 3 to my satisfaction. No bank of questions out there so I've made up a few and used the one question available from the Specimen paper.

Not quite what I originally intended. This has become more like a Text Book and I will use it along with the animations I've written previously.
As a result of the number of illustrations, the pdf file is a big 18Mb so I've also made a reduced version as well. All questions have been sourced from SQA AdvH Past Papers.

Have completed the first 20 odd pages of what will be Topic 2 - Organic Synthesis. 'Work in Progress', so may change a lot between now and completion.

Produced a Test for the first Topic in Unit 3. Really struggled to find enough questions for the written paper, so included a calculation since my class have just finished working through the Analysis section.
The Analysis section is basically the Stoichiometry topic that used to be part of Unit 2 but is now (I assume) subsumed into the 'extra time' for Practical work etc.

After a lot of swithering, I've decided to do the full Unit - Organic Chemistry - next. First Topic concentrates on some of the Permeating aspects, Structures involving molecular orbital hybridisation and Isomerism.
I've also taken the opportunity to add some additional (3rd party) animations to my Reaction Pathways project that are relevant to this Topic. They can be found in the Structures drop-down menu.
I've also taken the plunge and started moving this Project 'in-house'. This will be the only version updated but I will keep the external website version going at least long enough to ensure there are not any hidden problems.

With all the bits chopped out, I decided to combine my Topic 2 & 3 into a single Topic. I've edited the original LTS Notes accordingly, as well as my Learning Outcomes, Questions and Test.

This iOS App would suit students or teachers new to the course.
It includes a full set of AP Chemistry Notes as well as 170+ FlashCards with AP level questions, tips and advice. In addition, there are now 1600+ MC Questions arranged by AP Unit.
Each Question comes with a Hint & Explanation as an aid to undersatnding.
Many of these Questions would be suitable for A-Level, IB , AdvH , OCR etc. but would not cover all the content of these courses.
This will be Physical & Inorganic Chemistry with very little Organic.
