Demo Version of AP Chemistry App

It is now possible to open a Demo version of my AP Chemistry Quiz & Cards App.

You need to be using an iPhone or iPad iOS 14.0 or above.

If on a Desktop, simply point the camera of your device at the AppClip code to start.

If browsing on your phone, press and hold on the Code and you will be given option to Open Demo.

The Demo version is limited to 10 Mb, so restricted to only one Lesson of Notes, 5 Cards and about 10 MC Questions.

It automatically deletes from your device after a period of inactivity. There will be the option to download full version of the App offered.

Bonding Structures

Many years ago, this was a major Flash project that grew out of my teaching of Bonding Structures to N5 (pre AP) students. With Flash no longer supported, I converted as much as I could into stand alone videos.

Bonding Structures - Video versions

So these are the stand-alone videos I made to allow me to continue using the Flash resources I'd made.

SA = Single Atoms | CM = Covalent Molecular | CN = Covalent Network | IN = Ionic Network | MN = Metallic Network

1 - Introduction

2 - SA - Members

3 - CM - Members

4 - CN - Members

5 - MN - Members

6 - IN - Members

7 - Atomic Models

8 - Bonding Overview 1

These resources were produced many years ago, and reflect the fact that I was trying to design a pathwy for Bonding Structures through the various ages & stages of Chemistry. I'm not going to change the original files but many were upgraded/improved/amended and the 'final' versions can be found in the relevant sections of the website dedicated to N5 and Higher Chemistry in particular.

These are the Resources I used in the CfE Materials Topic in S1/2 as a first 'hands-on' introduction to structure. Actual models are used as much as possible, with photographed versions on Posters to supplement. Emphasis is on observation and classification.

These are the Resources I presently use with my Standard Grade classes immediately following on from the Topic that has covered Atomic Structure & Bonding. It 'completes' the story, putting more empasis on Structure and the link to Properties.

These are some of the earlier versions of Notes from the Elements & Bonding and Compounds & Bonding Topics in Higher Chemistry. While much of this should remain in the new Higher Course, there does seem to be some that is shifting into or overlapping with the N5 course.

New App Launched Jan 2022

I have launched my new App. It includes a full set of AP Chemistry Notes as well as 120+ FlashCards with AP level questions, tips and advice. In addition, there are 600+ MC Questions arranged by AP Unit.

For copyright reasons, none of the questions can come from actual AP Exams but they have been carefully chosen and written to match the content and level of AP Chemistry.

They would be equally suitable for A-Level, IB , AdvH , OCR etc. but would not cover all the content of these courses.

This will be Physical & Inorganic Chemistry with very little Organic.
